We liked it and we will be going back for the birthday lunches, but our favorite Asian buffet with Sushi bar is Chef Lin on Jefferson Pike, just for pure freshness of the sushi and overall food quality. Nothing against Golden Corral, they just wanted a change. I even tried the pizza and it was thick and yeasty and my daughters loved it.We went today because our church just announced, after 2 years, they are moving their monthly birthday celebration lunches from Golden Corral (which we love) to Flaming Grill & Buffet. I found the dumplings to be good, but not stuffed with the norm. ![]() The line at the Hibachi bar was so long we did not try it, but it must be good if so many people were willing to wait. There was more variety of sushi rolls than I have ever seen on a Sushi bar. The salmon in some kind of sauce was delicious - I usually find salmon a bit "fishy" but this was really good. All in all though, there was so much to choose from that if you didn' t like something, you just went back to try something else - which we DID! The bacon wrapped chicken was awesome. Some of the regular dishes - General Tsos, sweet and sour - were a bit tough and may have been on the bar a while. The cooked sushi rolls were a bit dry and the stuffed shrimp did not have much flavor (they LOOKED wonderful!). Some of the sushi rolls had a "fishy" taste to them, as did the crab rangoon (odd, as they should not have fish in them) which were not prepared as I have had at other Asian restaurants. We do have some complaints about preparation. There was something for all of us to to enjoy - pizza, chicken nuggets, fried fish, french fries for our little girls. Prime rib, bbq chicken, ham roast, whole MD crabs, crawfish, octopus salad, oysters on the half-shell, boiled shrimp, stuffed shrimp, fried shrimp, and that's before you ever get to the back of the restaurant where the Asian dishes, Sushi bar and Hibachi are located. Our waitress was always right there refilling our water and taking away dishes, asking if we needed anything, but not being bothersome at all.The food choices were AMAZING. Some people would not like this, but we were happy because our girls are a little rambunctious (even in Sunday dresses) and this way they couldn't bother any one else. We chose a booth and he seated us in the corner away from the buffet. BEACHFIRE BAR & GRILL, 204 Avenida Del Mar, Suite D. The gentleman who seated us (I think he was the manager) asked what type of table we preferred because we have small children. Private Banquet Room Full Catering Service Sunday Champagne Buffet Brunch. ![]() We were treated to EXCELLENT customer service. We've been there two or three times and each occasion I've seen food under the booths that the wait staff may have left for one or two rounds of patrons.Went there today,, for lunch after church for the very first time. I've rolled out of there a few times stuffed like a portly teddy bear.Īverage place, but they could clean a little more often. Portions? Well, its a buffet so use your own discreation. I think they have fresh scoop ice cream along with a few cakes to end the meal. The fresh grill and dessert stations are ok and edible. Ive had rancid fried chicken from there at least twice. I'd shy away from many other fried foods because who knows how long its been sitting there. Chicken on a stick has a good flavor, as well. Main meats and side dishes are tasty and they seem to refresh them often enough. Nothing super tasty, just buffet quality. I'd say the sushi quality is average, too. front as soon as you come in the door so you can't miss it. The sushi selection is usually above average with varied special rolls. Some are very good and some are.well, barely still in business.įlaming Grill is average. Not all Chinese buffets are the same, as you've surely found out by now.
